Beachrunner, that is a great looking guitar and the weight looks to be perfect too! Congrats.

NOT MINE, but it was a pleasure to get this for our guitar playing son. Like his siblings, a wonderful super hard working young adult who's been making good choices. His playing keeps advancing and this was right after another semester of straight As in electrical engineering.
It's a Dave's special edition American Vintage much like the beloved FSR Thin Skin from a decade+ ago. Really nice build, more soulful pickups than the many others at Dave's, 9.5 radius neck but not those railroad track frets.

This Cordoba Stage followed me home from GC this afternoon. It’s settling in nicely with the current residents.

I purchased this guitar in 2019. It was a very nice guitar but I soon started focusing much more on my acoustic guitars. Early last year I returned to playing a lot of electric guitar but 95% of the time I was playing my '67 Gibson ES335. I also recently turned 70 and for some reason it caused me to get rid of stuff that I rarely used. So, the week of Thanksgiving, I sold 3 guitars and this lovely Gretsch was one of them.

[QUOTE="spade2you, post: 28262325, member: 86185"]I'm a little north of 40 now and decided I procrastinate way too much. Guitar project 1. Swapped out the pickups of my Taylor T3/B again. I have one with higher gain PAF style pickups that's in the original configuration. This guy was intentionally different. It previously had Lollartron pickups and a rotary tone switch. Great tone, but too similar to the other one. This one has Vintage Vibe pickups with a Charlie Christian neck and P90 bridge. The vol is push/pull parallel/series with a push pull phase flip on the tone. Custom pickups...and I think he got the order mixed up because the bridge was weak and neck crazy strong. My local shop was able to compensate with pickup height, basically putting the neck flush with the body and bridge basically touching the strings. It sounds good enough that I'm not going to complain. The phase flip can add an interesting retro pawnshop vibe. Number B. New strap. I wanted this for a long time and spaced it off. Real rattlesnake. It's fixed length because I keep guitars/basses in the same spot, usually forever. The underside is suede, which helps me keep it at closer to a classical angle as well as giving me better control when tugging on the strap B bender lever. |

I love Squier Jazzmaster too. I even had a set of US JM pickups I was going to install in it. After playing it, I didn't hear what a different pickup would give me.

What likely caused them to fail in the circa 2000 marketplace is what I love: they didn't sound or feel like the usual Strat, Les Paul, SG, Tele, 335 electric guitar suites. I see now that this is an older post in a revived thread, but I hope you've enjoyed your DeArmond over the years as I've enjoyed my set of them.
