The Dead…I just never got it I guess. I’m sure there are more, but I’ll leave it at that.

For me it's The Beatles. I don't dislike them, but they don't do anything for me.

This is looking like a popular opinion here. Personally, I find the children’s songs tiresome. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,
All Together Now, Yellow Submarine, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, Octopus’s Garden, Bungalow Bill, and the list goes on. I think most of their later albums would’ve been vastly improved without them, but they’re relentless.

One the other hand, Beatles music covers a huge variety, and it’s hard to hate it all.

I love some songs, including most of Lennon’s on Help, Rubber Soul, Revolver, and The White Album. How different these are from the ones mentioned above.

I suspect that wouldn't have been the case if this question had been asked here five or ten years ago.

Not that it's an "either or" situation, but I have always been a Stones fan and and The Beatles not so much. Though when I lived in Colorado, I was allowed to fish on Ringo's property on the Roaring Fork whenever I wanted to. I suppose that should earn the Fab Four some loyalty from me.

I get it, but the Stones are the Stones. Pretty much one single thing. (A thing I love; Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out is the best live rock ‘n’ roll album I’ve heard.)

The Beatles are many things, so if someone doesn’t like them, it’s hard to parse out whether that means only the hits or only the McCartney tunes or only the kids tunes or only the early tunes, or the cut of their jib, or what. It’s a huge variety.

And Bob Dylan.
Now THEM are fightin' words! . I'm a huge John Prine fan. And I love a lot of Dylan's songs . . . but I usually prefer them to be sung by someone else.

Just kidding, of course. We all have different tastes in music. The musical world would be very boring if we all liked the same stuff.

Now, to whoever said Taylor Swift is more advanced than the Beatles I will say this: You have the right to be wrong if you want to.

This is one of the most interesting threads on AGF in a long time.

I agree, and we've kept it tame for 145 posts without kicking the hive too hard.

Thanks mods and members!

While I appreciate his humanitarian work, I can't stand Bono's band....U2.
