Searching for a Luthier, Josh Roswald

Hello AGF people,

There is currently a guitar for sale locally in Florida built by, supposedly, a luthier named Josh / Joshua Roswald from the Seattle area. It is a 12 fret, slothead guitar.

If anyone has any contact info, I would love to chat with him. I have tried Google and Whitepages and I am coming up with nothing. It's a stunning guitar, but I always like to try to get the story behind each guitar.

All I know is the guitar made its way down to St. Petersburg, FL, from a friend of Josh.

I know it's a longshot, but I figured I would try to see if anyone knows him.

Luke, lots of folks build a few guitars, then stop doing so. I’ve never heard of that particular builder, so if he did try to make a living building guitars he must not have done it for very long.

What’s every bit as likely, perhaps even more so, was that he was a hobby builder operating at a high technical level. I’ve seen and played some guitars built by hobbyists that were superb instruments.

I am not familiar with the name (not that I pretend to know everybody) and not a member of the Seattle Luthiers Group. Wade is likely right; Mr. Roswald may be a talented hobbyist who built a few instruments and then moved on to something else.
