Searching for a Luthier, Josh Roswald
MODERATOR CAN DELETE IF WANTED
Hello AGF people, There is currently a guitar for sale locally in Florida built by, supposedly, a luthier named Josh / Joshua Roswald from the Seattle area. It is a 12 fret, slothead guitar. If anyone has any contact info, I would love to chat with him. I have tried Google and Whitepages and I am coming up with nothing. It's a stunning guitar, but I always like to try to get the story behind each guitar. All I know is the guitar made its way down to St. Petersburg, FL, from a friend of Josh. I know it's a longshot, but I figured I would try to see if anyone knows him. Thank you for your time!

One bump then I'm giving up.
Mr. Roswald must have dropped off the face of the earth.

Luke, lots of folks build a few guitars, then stop doing so. I’ve never heard of that particular builder, so if he did try to make a living building guitars he must not have done it for very long.
What’s every bit as likely, perhaps even more so, was that he was a hobby builder operating at a high technical level. I’ve seen and played some guitars built by hobbyists that were superb instruments. Wade Hampton Miller |

I am not familiar with the name (not that I pretend to know everybody) and not a member of the Seattle Luthiers Group. Wade is likely right; Mr. Roswald may be a talented hobbyist who built a few instruments and then moved on to something else.
