Post Check out this Ovangkol...

Anyone ever see Ovangkol like this? I've seen variation in the color (from more of a mahogany color to a more olive formica looking color) but how bout this figuring? I love my 410 but it would be pretty cool to have one that looked like this...

I saw a 414CE this evening that looked great and I was impressed. It looked like Koa and thats funny the Koa looks like maple on the LTD. It was one sharp guitar! Thsi one you have takes the cake! Thats nice JW

I posted some time ago when the new (2001) 400 series came out that he ovangkol was much more interesting than that on my 2000 410. Mine is more understated, like rosewood/walnut, whereas the newer ones (with the ivory binding) looks more like koa or some such exotic wood.

J.R.- how did you do that? Is it one of your special admin. tricks or am I just not competent enough to do something as simple as inserting a picture? Either way, thanks, since I'm glad people can now see this thing without going through the link.

Talking

Howdy folks! This would be my first post on this forum, and thought it appropriate to make the introduction on the thread that mentioned my new Taylor. Although not in hand, I'm just waiting for shipping charges before I send the $$ to the current owner.

Although I play electric mostly, this will be the first nice accoustic I've owned. My brother has a 614 and know the quality of these fine guitars. Really looking forward to getting this in hand and running it through the paces!

If you got this guitar then you got a beauty. I never use to pay much attention to the 400's, but know I always check them out after seeing this one. I'll be darned if the sound of them isn't growing on me as well. I played a 410 that was super!
