Default New to the forum...saying "helo"

Hello everyone,

My name is Daniel and I'm a Gearoholic. (Just kidding...but, seriously)
I am somewhat new to the passion of acoustic playing but have been a high-end electric player for years and recently dipped my feet into this brave new world that is the acoustic guitar.
I had no idea what I was missing. The acoustic universe is every bit as fun and, dare I say, even more interesting then the electric side of the house.
My recent acquisition is a 2016 Gibson J-29 that I play nearly nonstop. I've barely touched any other guitars since I got it. My amps and electrics are collecting dust. What have I got myself into?

Welcome! Starting off with a very nice acoustic. As you can see from my sig I'm pretty big on Gibson these days myself.

Howdy and welcome. I know what you mean, my amps haven't been turned in at least 2 years!

Welcome! I agree 100% that the world of acoustic guitars is a bit more interesting than that of electrics, although I certainly enjoy both.

That J-29 is one helluva guitar. The two or three that I've sampled were monsters -- tons of volume and overtones, with a strong bass -- really representative of what a lightly-built rosewood guitar can deliver.

Enjoy the forum; it's a pretty chill group. I look forward to your contributions!

Welcome to gearaholics anonymous. I also went from electric to Acoustic and now have only one electric and one electric guitar amp left.

Welcome Daniel, this is a nice place to hang out. There are plenty of acoustic experts here and you'll find it a handy knowledge resource. Nice acoustic to start off with too, you should enjoy many years of playing that Gibson...gas not withstanding.
