I Got a Shubb Fine Tune Capo

I bought the F1. Am I nuts or do you really have to tighten it a lot? I feel like with the amount I am tightening it I will start to see some marks on the neck.

I feel the same way sometimes with all my capos. If I don't tighten it I start thinking it will not be pure.
