Maybe other members here would be interested in reading the catalogs from the late `70s...print them out and keep em in case you come across these in used gear shops...perhaps staff selling them will think they have just cheap MIJs, and that happens to me in Japan sometimes...most local shops are staffed by kids who don`t have a clue about MIJs made before the `90s. http://www.oldguitar.jp/catalog/iban...9_usa_0002.jpg http://www.oldguitar.jp/catalog/iban...9_usa_0003.jpg http://www.oldguitar.jp/catalog/iban...9_usa_0004.jpg http://www.oldguitar.jp/catalog/iban...9_usa_0005.jpg Last edited by sneaky; 03-02-2010 at 03:02 AM. |

I used to have one, my very first guitar - a mid '70s Takamine D-28 copy, back when they even copied Martin's headstock logo style. It was a spectacular sounding and playing guitar, despite being all-laminate. Wish I hadn't sold it. I only have a couple of bad slides I took of it. Probably not worth posting.

Here`s my two, my lovely 1980 Daion/Yamaki "The 78 Heritage" (pickguard is not original), and my simply wonderful 1999 Yamaha LS500.
Daion. Yamaha LS500. I am really enjoying seeing some of these wonderful guitars, the people are showing. |

My old friend, and go to guitar when the muse hits, is a 1982 Ibanez V-210. Solid mahogany with sunburst spruce top, it has a great sound, plays great and the best part...I bought it from a pawn shop 25 years ago for $60.00.

Plain old FG-150J from the 70s. Now it's been 'adjusted', I love it.
