Default ns necks?

I know my ns72 has the new tech neck with finger joints at the headstock and I have watched the nt video so I understand how that works but looking at my ns I can't see that technology where the high end of the fretboard recesses into the body of the guitar. Is the ns neck different yet from the older or newer necks. Inquiring minds want to know. PS If I had built the ns series I might have made the neck 3-4 frets longer and a bit wider but I am truly beginning to love that guitar. I find myself reaching for it first when writing or just amusing myself. If anyone from Taylor happens to be listening, a couple of extra frets before the cutaway REALLY would be helpful. We old rock and rollers from a previous life like to use the whole neck.
