Default Discounted Martin guitars for AGF members

Does anyone know which Martin guitar dealer who is a AGF sponsor in or around NYC or Fairfield county CT give 60% off MSRP standard series Martin guitars? Thanks.

I don’t know anyone who ever gave 60% off MSRP. Back in the day 40% was standard. But now MSRP doesn’t exist. Just MAP is left. And given that demand is high and guitars are scarce any discount off MAP is difficult to find. They are out there…but nowhere near the old discounts. I’ve still been getting 10% off MAP from a shop I’ve used for years. But I think that’s mainly because of my track record as a good customer.

Roy nailed it. Martin completely reworked their pricing structure last year. And he’s lucky to be getting 10%. You might find a dealer willing to pay the sales tax or shipping for you, but these days, list is pretty much what you’ll pay for a new Martin. There really was never a better time to buy a used Martin. That’s the best way to get 30% off current list.

The best way to get a substantial discount on a Martin is to buy an Eastman!

I think you have it wrong -its 60% of list as price-
at todays prices its not common - cant blame a dealer for not doing this - but a few are .
I'm glad Im done buying guitars !

Ditto. The very best buying experience I ever had, from a dealer was with Jon & his wife at MFG. They are missed, for sure.

Curently, the best prices I've seen were at Music Outlet in Sevierville, TN. It doesn't hurt one bit that they are a huge Martin dealer. Here's their Martin room:

Default Musician's Friend

I know many may not want to buy from there, but I recently purchased a Martin from Musician's Friend at 15% off. I couldn't get that price at any other smaller retailer I called, and as a matter of fact most of them wouldn't budge on price at all. In addition if you have a rewards account you get 8% back on future purchases. I've bought several guitars from MF over the years, including some high end ones, and never had an issue with any of them. And the return policy is hard to beat if you don't like what you receive.

Obviously you don't get the personal setup that you can get from the other shops before shipping, and that can be very important also. The box came to me sealed from Martin, so was just as you'd expect from the factory - a bit high on action and could use tweaks to enhance playability. But I was able to do some of that adjustment myself and will ultimately take to a great tech to do a full setup soon.

The guitar itself was flawless and untouched, unlike the ones off the rack at Guitar Center. I wish I could get this same discount locally at a smaller store, but I couldn't even find one in inventory. In this time of shortages of supply everywhere, they gave the best deal I could find.

I bought a guitar from Jon too and he was great but he'd be doing the same as everyone else these days.

Yep, their 15% off deal has provided me with some excellent guitars over the years.
