Tama acoustic guitars
Just bought a Tama TW-09 acoustic, beautifully made and I feel lucky to have found her. Can't get enough of the sound and solid projection. Does anyone else have this model or later period Tama (1977-1979)?

Japanese acoustics made between 1974-1979 I believe, fantastic build quality, using quality woods . My model TW-09 uses alpine Spruce, according to the literature, three times more expensive than the competition of that time.

They were a very cool and hard to find (In the solid wood models) niche in the acoustic guitar history of that era.
Congrats! I played a few and almost bought one as a backup for my D-28 when gigging solo in the '70s... Ended up with an FG-180 instead. Pics? |

I couldn't get your link to open, but is this yours? Serial # ends in 178?
Like I said, I played a few back in the '70s and they were some of the best imports around, but rare in the solid wood versions. |

I had a basic model, without the bling, in the mid 70s and kept it until the mid 90s, when I stopped playing for a few years. It was a great guitar and I regret selling it, especially for £75! You can pay a couple of thousand for a nice one now. I saw 1 in an open mic night recently, and had a good talk with owner, who'd had it from new and loved it.
