I've met 2 AGFers. One I bought a guitar from and the other I sold a case to.

Default meeting another

I think it would be neat if there was a way we could identify each other. I have been to several guitar shows and know many of you were there. We've brushed up against each other, listened to each other play, no doubt, but we aren't able to recognize each other.

Since most of us use alternate names instead of our legal ones, that only makes it harder. I feel I may have missed out on some friendships as a result.

Not yet I haven't.

Sounds like you had a great experience, rcoolz. You even got a mandolin out of it.

You mean you haven't been let in on the secret handshake yet?

I've had a forum member or two from the Martin Forum recognize me at Gryphon and say hello & identify themselves.

Fun when that happens!

I sold a guitar to someone over Craigslist and later that day saw it here as an NGD post.

Met a lot of folks from the mudcat cafe discussion forum over the years, usually unexpectedly. One was seated next to my kid and I at a concert about ten years ago and we were chatting when I realized I must know this person from somewhere. Eventually they retired and moved to my town with their spouse. I'm playing their daughter's wedding next month.

Hi rc…

Met many, never by accident!

Going to meet a new AGF member in person this week (9/2015) and park my RV overnight at his place (and of course play guitars).

We've chatted online, emailed, and spoken over the phone for years. It will be fun to get to spend an evening and part of a morning with he and his wife.

Yes, at a software development conference. Wearing a guitar-themed shirt is a magnet for others who play and that leads to conversations. At a Microsoft PDC in 2008/9 I met a guy from an AGF user in Ireland.
