Default Composite Acoustics Eliminates CA Legacy RAW From Catalog!

It would appear that Composite Acoustics/Peavey has recently eliminated its CA Legacy RAW model from its dreadnought offerings. This leaves only the more expensive CA Legacy High Gloss model. Too bad, as I've thought the CA Legacy RAW was a really good-sounding dreadnought since trying a used Peavey-made one a couple of years ago. I've been contemplating buying a CA Legacy RAW for sometime but now new ones are down to available stock already in stores.

How did the prices compare? I haven't kept up with the latest models and prices from Composite Acoustics since they were acquired by Peavey...

Here's a high gloss model I found online for a price comparison:

As offered by Sweetwater, a 2015 CA Legacy RAW was selling for $1899 and the 2015 CA Legacy High Gloss sells for $2699.

I didn't realize the price difference was that much.
Thanks!

Yes, it was that much, which has to be way more than what CA saves on the finish. I'm guessing the RAW finish only saves CA a hundred dollars or so in labor and materials, which should translate to a street price difference of no more than $250. Guessing they don't think there is a market for a RAW Legacy priced at $2450.

Yet, CA is still marketing the CA OX in both RAW and High Gloss. There must be more of a market for the CA OX RAW than there was for the CA Legacy RAW?

But what is the price difference? I see the OX RAW is now $1849, (up from $1099 in 2010) what is the price of the OX gloss?

It seems there aren't any 2015 CA OX High Gloss guitars on the web. Here are a couple of new CA OX guitars from 2013 with prices varying greatly:

New, July 2013 serial number BDG, CA OX High Gloss - Red, selling for $2599 with a list of $3099.99, at Artisan.

New, May 2013 serial number BDE, CA OX High Gloss - Solid Carbon, selling for $1999.99 with a list of 2339.99, at Elderly.

Something tells me the CA on-site listing of models is not current and likely the CA OX High Gloss offerings are discontinued.

Hard to tell what's going on. What I used to see after the asset acquisition was $1999 for gloss, and $1599 for RAW for the OX model. Now the advertised prices are all over the place, which means CA either dropped MAP, or are not enforcing it. Not a good sign either way.
