Taylor 518e Has anybody lived with this guitar?

I'm seriously thinking of buying one. What are current owners thoughts? Is there any advantage in buying a first edition as the one I'm thinking of isn't?
The second choice is a Gibson J21 which also sounds lovely. Any owners of this guitars impressions also. Many thanks
