Default Difference between Elixir Polyweb and Nanoweb strings?

I have a Morgan DM (Dread with Spruce top and mahogany sides/back). I think it came with Elixir Nanoweb strings. Anyways, I just had to change them, and I put on the same gauge of Elixirs, except the Polyweb strings.

I might just be imagining this, but to me the Polyweb strings don't quite as good. The fingerpicking tone is good, but strummed it sounds like the hi's and lows are a bit too loud- a kind of jangly sound with little midrange. Don't get me wrong, they very much sound like new strings, just weird or something.

Obviously the only thing that's changed is the strings on the guitar, but tone is quite a bit different. Is this a result of the strings, or is it just that they need to be broken in a bit, or I am imagining things and are the Polywebs and Nanowebs pretty much the same thing?

Hi,
Elixir strings take about a week to really break in. See how you like them then.
I prefer the Nanos but like the Polys for a change once in a while. Trouble is...
they last so long.

May also be that your guitar might have come with the Nano Phosphor Bronze, whereas the Poly's only come in the 80/20.... Do you know if the Nano's that came on the guitar were the PB or 80/20?
