Looking for suggestions for. . .
Dreadnought
12 fret to the body slotted peghead sunburst finish mahogany back and sides Spruce top (Adirondack would be great) and most importantly. . . AFFORDABLE! American made would be great, but not a deal breaker. I've got a Yairi Masterworks slope shouldered 12 fret in a sunburst with Rosewood, and I want a Mahogany counterpart. |

Maybe a used SCGC D12 ? ....a fantastic guitar. Sunburst are rare though I think.

A lot depends on how you define "AFFORDABLE!" If you mean under a thousand dollars, then your chances are slim. But if you can spend more than that, your chances look better.
My suggestion is that you start looking for used Martins. But it's unlikely that you'll find that body configuration with a sunburst top. While I'm sure you could order one that way, I don't think I've ever seen a stock Martin 12 fret dreadnought with a sunburst top. whm |

^ This. It seems to check all your boxes. Pono has a great reputation for quality instruments, quick shipping, and good customer service. I have a solid koa Pono eight string ukulele, and one of our club members just bought a cedar topper acacia uke from them. Super workmanship and quality.
I've only heard good things about their guitars too. I tried to make time to visit them during our last trip to Oahu, but it did not pan out. Good thing, as I would have much less money...... |
