Listen to 'The Leaving of Liverpool' by the Dubliners. That's a great song which starts slowly and builds up to a rousing chorus.
A very mellow and beautiful song is 'Jock Stewart', which has been played by many Irish bands, including the Tannahill Weavers and even the Pogues. If you're up for an instrumental, Mason's Apron is one of my favourites. |
