I've never met John in person but I've gotten lots of great advice from him over the past 7 years at the Kit Guitars Forum. He's good people. if you ever get the bug to build, he's one of the people to get in touch with because he is EXTREMELY helpful. He even has a Youtube channel with tutorials that are very comprehensive.

One of these days I'd like to pay his shop a visit, maybe even build a guitar. In fact, not to sound morbid but it's going on my bucket list.

I stood behind John in an excruciatingly long line at Wayne Henderson's festival several years ago. Learned a whole lot including that Wayne didn't like to do inlay and John did all/some of it for him. Also learned that the fast track to a Henderson guitar was not to bring him a pie but rather a vintage firearm....

What a fun interview, Maury. It was like being in the room with you two. And John Hall strikes me as a really interesting guy!

What fun to take a week off and go build a guitar with him. Man, that would be fun.
