Default Questions about guitar workshop

I have a chance to attend a 3 day 2 night guitar workshop in March. There are various classes for all skill levels. I am a self taught couch picker that has only been playing about 4 years.

Since I have no idea what to expect, I have a question for the more experienced here. I have done all my playing sitting down. Wouldn't even know how to put a strap on my guitar. Should I get comfortable standing or will I be able to sit during these classes? I plan on taking the flat-picking and blues classes if that makes a difference.

As I have never been to anything like this before and I have only played with other people twice in my life, any advice to get the most out of this workshop would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help,
Jay

For anyone interested this workshop is at Twin Falls Resort In Mullens, WV. March 21-24.

Go for it. I think you'll be surprised at how many folks there are at your skill level. You should be able to sit. I used to go to these types of things when I was younger and it was always a classroom type atmosphere. Leave your insecurities at home. We all started somewhere.

Many players - especially fingerpickers - sit when playing, so that shouldn't be a concern.
As for going in - be receptive to new ideas, don't take criticism to hard.

Thanks for the replies. So i guess I don't need to run out and buy a strap then? That's a good thing

I am a bit apprehensive but I am sure I will have a good time and hope to learn a thing or two.
