Default another New Guy

Hi folks...I 've been lurking here for a few weeks and decided to join up, so I wanted to say Hi to all. My name is Sonny, I'm from the midwest and I've been a musician all my life, well most of it anyway. I started playing drums when I was 13 and was in my first band at 15 that was 40 years ago! yeah, I'm an oldster. I started playing guitar in 1966, and am still pretty much a hack but I enjoy playing for my own entertainment. I've always played drums in all the bands I've been in, but in one of them I also played guitar since the guitar played drums too. My current guitar inventory is a 1968 Epiphone Casino sunburst that I bought in 1970 and a Yamaha FG-160 that I bought in 1977. I guess I should say that was my inventory untill I finally got the urge to buy myself a new acoustic. I've always like the way my Yamaha sounded but I didn't realize how fat it was at the nut untill I started playing someother acoustics and I could play them better then my old Yammie after all these years.
I started shopping after I checked out this site, I was going for the medium range in price, nothing expensive but nothing ultra cheap either, unless it sounded good to me and had a better neck then my Yammie. I started shopping and found a lot of names I'd never heard of before...Breedlove, Garrison, Lavarrie and some others. The Lavarrie's were all way more then I wanted to spend so I unfortunately had to rule them out, I also looked at Dean's, Washburns, Alvarez, the lower end Taylor's and Martins and also the lower end Breedloves. I'm happy to say I made my purchase tonight and I'm now a proud owner of a Breedlove AD20SM. It played the best for me, and sounded as good as I could ever make a guitar sound. I ended up out the door with tax and a hardshell case for a little less then 550.00. This is the nicest acoustic I've ever owned.
Thanks for providing a great site with lots of info. and help for all of us with questions out here. I hope to visit often, and find out all about things that I could never imagine. Best wishes to all for a Happy New Year.
Regards Sonny

Hey Sonny you got one heck of a nice guitar my buddy just got one just like it. Do you flatpick or fingerpick seems like folks around here usually do one or the other but some both.

Post some picks if you can and Happy New Year and happy picking what a great way to bring in the new year with a new guitar!

Welcome Sonny. I'm new here as well so I won't be offering any advice but hopefully you can benefit from some of the answers to the questions I ask.

Thanks Jim....I'd say I'm more of a flat picker, probably just more of a "strummer"
I'd be glad to post some pictures when I take them, I don't have a picture posting site, so I may be out of luck here.
Thanks for the Welcome, I was hoping I made a good choice, so I appreciate the positive response
Regards Sonny
