Exclamation Binding Concerns

Could use some input here...

I was inspecting my 314kce today and noticed something quite concerning. The soundboard binding on the top of the guitar (non-cutaway side)is rough. It appears to be bubbling or perhaps pulling away, but it certainly isn't the way it is supposed to be. There are very distinct "bubbles" or raised creases in the binding which are both noticable by touch and even by visual inspection at this point.

My first thought was humidity, but I maintain the proper levels constantly. Any ideas why this might be happening? YIKES!!!! I noticed just 1 or 2 bumps a week or two ago, but now it is almost all the way around to the side of the soundboard by the electronics!

Please help!

Thanks all,

Jeff

This happened on two of the Taylor that I've owned. Both were repaired for me at the factory. Sometimes the solvent content in the binding prevents it from setting properly, but the problem often doesn't appear for a few months or more.

Chances are, it won't pull away any more, but you might still want to send it in for a repair. Talk to your dealer and they can get it fixed up for you. I was very concerned when I saw this, too, but Taylor fixed it up perfectly.

I had the same problem with my W14C (which I have since traded). I had to send it back to El Cajon and they fixed it like new in short order. They also did some fret work and neck adjustment...played better than ever...the guitar that is ,not me.
