I own an Applegate SJ with Madagascar rosewood back/sides (that was originally owned by mguynn). It is an absolutely incredible guitar and you won't be disappointed in this beauty he is selling now. I also own an Olson SJ and my Applegate is at the same high bar of build quality and tone.
I met Brian Applegate at his shop near Minneapolis last summer. We talked about guitars for nearly an hour and briefly about his time apprenticing with James Olson 25 years ago. He is a great guy and top notch luthier.
