Default Is "X" Guitar Good for this "Y" Thing?

For all of the threads about, "Can this-or-that guitar do this-or-that thing?"...

Here's is a young guy on a modern Martin that is a smaller size playing with a thumbpick and no fingernails while thumbpicking, hybridpicking, flatpicking, and strumming a song that is kind of folk and kind of blues and kind of modern without using a pickup with an Elliott cap behind the headstock.

Seems to do OK with what he's got...

But maybe it would be even more fantastic with different guitars more suited for each style?

It would have been difficult for him to change out the guitar multiple times in the middle of the song.

I believe he is playing a Martin-OM21; a nicely versatile guitar, IMO. However, your point is well taken. The right player can work a lot of magic no matter what he/she has in his/her hands.
