Default NGD Eastman E20D

My wife and I took a brief winter holiday to Chicago over the weekend until today. I talked her into going to Chicago Music Exchange because it's rare that I get to a larger city with shops an extensive and varied inventory of higher end guitars. I've always been curious about Eastman guitars and they had several in stock, so I tried out the E20OM and the E10OM TC , of which the latter I liked the most which surprised me. I lean toward rosewood most of the time. The E20 just had a dead sounding low E string with everything else sounding fabulous. Just to be thorough I took a E20D off the wall and was blown away immediately. I'm not normally a dreadnought guy but the tone of this thing just hooked me immediately. I'm not a fan of thumpy bass but this guitar has power and articulation in the bass I just love. I'm guessing that has something to do with the Adirondack top which are known to take a while to break in and I hope it never gets thumpy, but it has room to open up. Needless to say it left the store with me.

IMO Eastman dreads are definitely the meaty part of the lineup...

Well, that certainly made the trip to Chicago worth while. Hope you enjoyed your trip and that you enjoy your guitar for a long, long time. I really enjoy there Adirondack topped guitars.

Congrats! I have an Eastman Dreadnought too (the AC320) and I can't believe how good it sounds.
