Congrats on an incredibly cool guitar. Yours is unique in that it was built during one of the few years Gibson did not go with their pre-1942 bracing opting rather for same single X brace and angled tone bars the SJ00 had. Sometime in 1951 they went back to the older style bracing. Considering how long the model was in production, this makes it a very rare bird in terms of Kalamazoo-built J200s

I think I can join with everyone else in saying "Wow". Thanks for sharing this incredible guitar and demonstration. Sounds absolutely wonderful and how is it in such good shape. Was this in a guitar museum display? That's simply amazing. Great find and man are you going to have some fun!

I am in shock,
The tone is to die for. Oh my such sweet trebles and clarity. One of the best sounding guitars I have ever heard! And then, on top of everything....a Sunburst and in perfect condition???? I had to go back and re-read your opening post. I thought maybe you are playing a joke on us....to be in that condition. But the tone...Amazing. Huge Townsend fan and I have been wanting that big bodied maple sound for years. I had a custom dread made with some exotic hardwoods. It has much of the same sweet trebles and clarity as your guitar. So I thought I was cured.....but No! Thanks to you...I am now wanting a SJ-200 once again! What a guitar! Thanks a lot for ruining my day! ha ha.... o.k let me say it one more time....WOW what a beautiful tone. |

Great addition. I just added a brand new one and I am surprised how much I like finger style on it.
Congrats and enjoy! |

The only thing I'd like to change about that guitar is the owner ... I've got a empty hanger that would be a perfect fit.
Wonderful, fabulous, all timer. Wow.
