Default SPECIAL AUCTION FOR SHURE SUPER 55 MIC

Our member, "jjbigfly," has graciously offered to auction off a Shure Super 55 mic to anyone on the AGF who agrees to donate the money straight to the forum. We appreciate his generosity and we have received special permission from our owner to conduct this auction in the General section.

The Shure Super 55 mic has a market value of $249.99. It is new in the box, except for the owner removing it to ensure that it operated properly. Our auction is open to anyone on the AGF.

Bidding will start immediately in this thread at a minimum of $100 and any additional bids must raise the price by at least $10. All bids must be made publicly in this thread... no PMs. If bids are made at approximately the same time, the highest bid will prevail. The mods will do the best we can to make sure the current bid is obvious to all.

The auction will run for THREE DAYS and it will end at approximately 5:00 pm EST on Saturday, February 5th. The mods will announce the upcoming close of the bid and we'll try to allow any last minute bids if at all possible. When the bidding ends, the thread will temporarily close to any new posts and the winner will be announced.

The winner MUST agree to contribute the bid amount directly to the AGF through our yellow "DONATE" button on the right side of our main index page and also on the right side of any subforum. PayPal handles our payments page, but a PP account is not required.

Jjbigfly will handle all shipping fees, so the winner will simply need to contact him privately to arrange shipping. All money will go straight to the AGF. Shipping will occur as soon as the money has been donated and the necessary arrangements have been made. Jjbigfly wants to give back to the AGF by offering this mic to someone who will enjoy it and he wants to ensure that the AGF will benefit monetarily. We are grateful to him and to the winner for making their generous contributions to the forum. Pictures will be posted below. Please help us raise a little money for the AGF! Thank you and thanks to jjbigfly.

Excellent, Paul... thanks. That's a good-looking ad. Hope that helps folks.

Let's raise a little money for the forum and get this mic in a member's hands who can use it.

Default A little history lesson...

What an influential mic... here's an article about its history and what a ground-breaker the original mic was.

It was first introduced in 1939 and was the favorite of Elvis, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and Mildred Bailey. It was one of the mics used at MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech and it was in the famous Truman photo holding the "Dewey Defeats Truman" headline.

Who can resist the Elvis mic?

I have a couple of Shure mics but none like this. It would look good at B.I.G. for the performers voices. I am in as well.

$160.00 please.
