I wonder how many have tried to glue it back down.

Tim, even before finishing reading your post I knew what the issue was . I think, although I don't recall when, that happened to me too.

Do you still want to keep the Holter pickguard? Have you received it yet?

It's good to know I'm not alone.

I don't have it yet but for the price I will let the order proceed.

It will probably go on the Eastman, eventually. I'm not sure I have the emotional fortitude to begin pulling the old one off or a perfectly good guitar right away though.

I also figured out pretty quickly where this story was going; glad it had a happy ending! And when that "pickguard" gets its first couple of scratches from honest playing, just smile and remember: that's why in the UK they're called "scratchplates"...

I thought they were called pickguards here in the UK too. Never heard one called a scratch plate

Default Oakley ski goggles

Had a friend buy some great looking goggles.
His first Oakleys so he’s already ticked off at the cost-
Used them for half a day, and sold them to me because he thought they were the worst lenses ever.
I noticed the film on the inside of the lenses still there as I put them on.
Now indignant, he didn’t want them back.
They are my favourites now!

Here's one that needs to go on your "Getting started with your new guitar" card:

======>
<======

"Your new guitar can now be strummed in both directions."
