Best Guitar Chair/Stool?
My back is getting tired of my steel folding chair so I need to look at getting something designed for guitar playing. I've been looking at the Roc n Soc Tower Stool. No shops around me have them in stock so I'd have to order one. Does anyone have this stool? If so what are your thoughts? Secondly, anyone have another suggestion? As I'm aging I am beginning to appreciate that ergonomics are my friend

Sound Seat
The Sound Seat is pretty nice but expensive. The guitar models are $230 for the standard back and $250 for the mid back plus S&H.
Sound Seat I haven't tried them but I came across them while checking out ergonomic seating since time has been catching up on me too. Getting old sux, doesn't it? PS Click on the "About Sound Seat" link and read about the construction. They are very well made. Probably the seat I'll wind up buying. Last edited by old_dog; 07-10-2006 at 10:01 AM. |

I prefer playing in one of these...
If you're into heavy metal/hardcore, try: For bluegrass pickers, the best is this (available in variety of colors!): |

After I bought one, I thought it was a bargain. Easily one of the best music-related purchases I've ever made. I liked my SoundSeat so much that I bought a second one (the break-down model) so that I can take it to all my gigs. You'll find that a lot of SoundSeat owners have more than one. People like 'em so much, they want one for playing guitar, one for sitting at the computer, etc. They are very solidly constructed, too, out of top-grade materials. I don't think there's really any competition for the best guitar chair. You can get something cheaper, but I don't think you can get anything better. |

SoundSeat...the expense is worth it! I own two of 'em...a standard and an MP. One for playing, one for my home office. Well worth it...and J.R. is a great guy to work with!!
