Thanks for that additional insight!

All the greats have played that prototype upstairs - Strings, Paisley, Emmanual, Uncle Larry, Vinny, Steve...ME!

As I mentioned, George didn't think that the prototype in the video was good enough, so I can't wait to see the finished product. Arriving tomorrow!

I know I am a guitar snob, but when I played one I said it looked and sounded like a Tacoma Chief, which is a nice sub 1000 dollar guitar. George played it for me andI will admit it sounded better than I thought. But for the 3-4 thousand range I would buy the Gruhn 12 fret D28 S. I hope those of you who ordered them find that they thrill you. Anybody remember when George put his name on some Guilds he had made. They were nice guitars.

Based on those samples, I’d love to hear someone play some gypsy jazz on one.

The model like the one in the video is only $2500, so not $3-4k, which would absolutely make it harder with all that’s availBle in that price range.

To be fair, if Tacoma was making a Chief today, it would probably be about $2500 with inflation and other factors in making guitars in America 20 years later. I think it’s safe to say that they are among the least expensive guitars made in America other than the big 3’s lowest end stuff. They are consistently priced with that of Iris, and most of the Larrivees and the USA Guilds.

Couldn’t find the specs (size, scale length, nut width, etc.) anywhere.

I'll report them this evening when I get home. They aren't published anywhere that I am aware of. I will measure everything once I bust it open.

Regarding my VERY similar Tacoma Chief, it's the only acoustic guitar I haven't put a pickup in- and I don't feel like I need to. I'm not sure how well it projects at a distance, but it's loud to the player's ear, with more bass than you'd expect from a guitar only 3 1/2 inches thick.

In a previous Zoom call, George said they were 25 1/2 and 1 3/4 inches. The body looks identical to my Tacoma Chief, which measures 15 inches across the lower bout.

First buyers are in for a thrill- I'm envious!

As a person who's owned a few Tacoma models in the past (but not a Chief) I'm curious and interested in this new Gruhn designed guitar. I know back in the day many were put off by the Gumby looking headstock and bridge but I never played a Tacoma that didn't play and sound great.

Maybe it's an option? I thought I saw that in their recent video.
