John Kinnaird #063
This is a John Kinnaird 000-12c with Brazilian Rosewood b/s and master grade cedar top. John recently confirmed the BRW was likely cut in the 1950’s - possibly even the 1940’s - and acquired by him at least 40 years ago. I bought it from Mark Kunkel around the 2003-2004 timeframe, IIRC. It’s still in mint condition, no cracks, crazing or ‘nary a mark on it.
Over the years, it’s been played alongside the likes of BRW Ryan, Wingert and Olson guitars and held its own very nicely. I thing the sound has further matured and improved since then. John asked that I send him some current pics so I took these earlier today. They’re the best I can do given the lighting and iPhone camera (and photographer) limitations. Best guitar purchase I’ve ever made.

Gorgeous! Bet it sounds fantastic. Nice to see a fellow Okie with such a sweet guitar.

I always loved that guitar. Still one of the best I ever had the chance to play.

I have two guitars from John and a few more from his brother Steve. They both build great guitars, different for sure, but both great. I am not surprised you like this so much and that back is beautiful. John builds in the Blueridge mountains of NC and Steve in Nacogdoches Texas (the oldest town in Texas).
