Peterson for me. Clip on, Stomp box, or Rack tuner. Peterson user for over 40 years.

As they say, You're either in or out of tune.

You can never tune a guitar to the perfect pitch.. no matter what tuner you use.. The major thirds will always be out of tune depending on the key you play in... just live with that

Snark. I have a few apps on my Android smartphone but never (rarely) use them. Includes Pro Guitar Tuner, Fender Tune, and Boss Tuner.

I use the Snark but end up adjusting by ear anyway. I have a Fishman Platinum preamp coming in today for my pedalboard.I hope the built-in tuner is good enough to use when I plug in.

TC Polytune or Stroboclip, which ever is nearby when I need to tune!

I use the A4 Tune Labs. Seems to be right on with pitch. Alexa will also provide a tone for each string.

Largely depends where and when I'm playing. Some of my guitars have tuners onboard. At ch ch I use the Boss TU-3 on my big board. At camp, I use the Korg on my other board. I have a couple clip on tuners inside the case of a couple guitars. One Snark, and two Planet Waves. At my practice space, I use the tuner built into the THR10II. When the need arises, I use the Boss app on my Android phone.

What are folks using for tuning?

Answer 1: Standard and DADGAD, with the 12 srtingers out of D#, 355 tuned down to C# with DADGAD intervals.

Answer 2: Mostly I favor a Korg CA-1 chromatic when I need to check tuning, which seems to mostly be tied to humid/dry weather fronts. And on all the J-200s, I tune the bass 'E' string a couple of hairs flat, such that fretting the G note is pretty much in the ballpark of a G note and not sounding a bit sharp.

I used Snarks fairly happily for a long time, but recently switched to a Fender Bullet, which takes up less real estate.

I was delighted recently to run across my old Sabine ST-1500, a tabletop (or amp-top) rather than a clip-on. Still works great! You can tell you're getting older when one of your famliar devices is sold on eBay and Reverb as "vintage."

Snark ST-8 Super Tights most of the time. Reasonably accurate, and inexpensive. I can own several and no big deal if I lose one.

Both of my acoustics have a built in tuner. They are good enough for me. I have an Eno ET-33 that I use when changing strings. I don't even know where I got it but it really works well. When I first started playing guitar we had pitch pipes. I had a real hard time tuning to a pitch pipe. I gotta say, thank God for electric tuners. I really dislike the whole tuning process.

Default Polytune headstock issues?

Jayne,

I use the Polytune too but am finding that it really mars the headstock of my guitars. I have a new guitar and started to use the Polytune and already see some fine marks. Do you have that issue at all? I love the Polytune as a tuner but am wondering if the headstock damage piece is endemic to the Polytune or is true of all clip on tuners.

I used to have those on all of my guitars as well. They work well, for the most part. On some guitars they struggle locking onto the low E and A. If I don't have my phone with me, I'll use the sound hole tuner.

I usually use the free Boss tuner app that resembles the Boss Tuner pedal...
I also have pitch pipe when I can find it...
