Default NGDish - Sound sample, take a guess

Hey everyone,
A little over a month I had a NGD. This was by far the most expensive purchase I've made on an acoustic, and I sold my previous one to help fund it.
Today I made a quick sketch on my Tascam digital recorder to see how well it records with my microphone (rode nt3). I added reverb and compression - no eq. I thought it would be fun to see if you guys could guess the guitar body style w/ extra kudos to make and model, and super extra kudos if you guess the decade it was made.
I will reveal the answer with some really sweet pics!

I'll try

Dread
Martin D18
70's

I think I'm hearing straight braced long scale dread, although the very beginning sounded like maybe an OM.

Prolly WAYYY off base.

BTW, nice playing.

I'm in...

I love these blind sound clips...

I have absolutely no idea...

And that sort of puts the whole guitar nuance stuff we talk about here on AGF into perspective...most of us can't tell one guitar from another LOL!

You make your new guitar sound amazing. What ever it is it suits your playing style.

As a Martin has already been suggested, I'm going to take a punt on a 1960s Gibson Hummingbird.

Robin - a Bird was actually my first guess, that I erased and went to the D-18. Be interesting to see how wrong we are!

It's a dread and it's capoed. Imma say Guild. A little too much brilliance to be a Martin, and too much sustain to be a Gibson.

Nice playing

Not far off at all! You nailed everything except for the model!!! It's actually a 1976 D-28! I'm impressed! It is a long scale straight braced dread. Great ears! I'm going to give you super extra kudos Steve!

Yep, one microphone, two separate tracks panned around 30% left and right, playing two different parts. Maybe I should have made that clear. Both in open tunings, one track with a capo and one without.

Thank you guys for playing everyone, and thanks for the nice comments. I'm happy to have this guitar and look forward to the journey. As promised, here are a few pics:

Thanks so much Robin! I really enjoyed your clips as well! I love traditional Irish folk music. Your playing is fantastic!

Love the sound, but those woods on the top, back and sides are really nice to look at. Seems like you got a winner all around.
