Default Any other XXX-D Taylors out there?

I have a '91 812-D and I haven't ever seen another Taylor with the "D" classification. It was a custom order whereby a local dealer hand delivered the blanks to Taylor for construction. It's about an inch deeper than the 512-c I have so I have always assumed the "D" implied a deeper body.

Anyone with a similar classification or know the official meaning?

thoff,

Back in the day "D" stood for dreadnought. I own an 812-D. It is the only guitar I have ever played that "fits" me so well. Big sound, skinny neck, rosewood and spruce with mother of pearl inlays. Keep it. It is priceless.

Default 812-D measurements, versus similar era 812 models
