Default I "may not" post attachments

Whatever works for you, but Taylor wants their logo facing out, right side up. I have a Byzantine strap and would post pictures, but am not allowed to. Why is that?

Pretty cool. Every other post seems to say "thick end / thin end"! Choices... choices are good.

Funny thread ... three pages so far on how to wear a guitar strap. Everyone must be still snowed in and getting cabin fever! Just to settle the issue: The correct way is MY way. That does it.

Default strap can't get along with guitar

I had an absolutely gorgeous, comfy Levy's strap that looked so nice on that 414e but no-go on getting the leather under on the jack. It had about the thickest leather end tab I've ever seen and very firm so it wouldn't squish down much.
I use this device. The Taylor ES endpin jack is so riculously short that all my straps have difficulty grabbing on. I don't know why Taylor won't make the endpin 1/8" longer. Bad design. Many of us have been complaining for years.

Default Strap end in sound hole

I thought that the end of the strap goes into the guitar's sound hole?

But then again, that only applies to my Nylon string strap (going around the neck, with a Y joint, and a single end with plastic hook going inoto the sound hole).

most newer guitars have strap pins or one can install one on the heel of the neck. Usually on the underside. Now you will slide the FACE ove the strap pin on this side( thick end) and then the back side of the thin end over the endpin or rear strap pin. If I have the strap narrow end to neck I have no thick part over my shoulders decent and is very uncomfportable. I know in the past guitars never had neck strap pins and would have to wrap thin strap pieces through the head stock under the string. This drive me crazy and will not play an acoustic like that. I strap mine like an Elelctric so it is thick end on nec and thin on back of guitar. And if you use an AE guitar this will make life ALOT easier trying to get strap on.

Wow, three pages on how to put a strap on the guitar? Those darn things need to come with instructions.

you know what? they do! I just bought a new black levy's leather strap (M26 model I think, gorgeous!) and went to their site and found these:

and yeah the wider end goes to the neck/heel, the way I do it.
