You must have seen Carl Miner playing the SD.

I’m looking for an SD-40, too. One of the best Larrivee’s I have played was an SD-40. I’m also a big fan of their satin finish. I think it’s classy looking.

I tried an SD-50 recently that was a great guitar. However, I just couldn't adapt to the wide nut width, which I found surprising since I'm not usually sensitive to such things. I think it would be so great if they offered a slope shoulder dreadnaught option in this new Simple Six series. But I don't think that Larrivee has ever offered a Gibson-style dreadnaught body (or a Gibson-style body of any kind).

I’m glad to see these being more permanently added to the lineup. However, with the prices I’m seeing on the slightly higher end models like the D-03 for example (brand new at $1575ish), I wonder how much lower these can realistically go.

I have a L01 that is kind of an early Simple 6. Story goes Larrivee made that model as a limited run exclusively for a music store in Japan. The deal fell through and the 12th Fret in Toronto ended up with a bunch of them, this was 20 years ago.

Sitka top with amazing silking, fabulous mahogany with shimmer and silk, probably Honduran. No body binding and the rosette is a decal. But it sounds, great, super responsive and very stable. It is a bit beat up but I love it. These new Simple 6 look interesting

A Simple 6 L feels like it would be a license to print money, but maybe not at 2k. Drop the sunburst, maybe opt for a gig bag, don't engrave the tuner buttons, whatever it takes, but get it into FG5/Laureate D price territory and I think it would be pretty compelling, even against the more finished competition.

Well, I ended up ordering the Simple 6 OM w/ burst from Sweetwater. Was hoping to try it out from my local dealer, but being overseas they are basically at the end of the list for getting them. I was told maybe by the end of the year.
So pulled the trigger.

Based off of everyones positive reviews and youtube sound reviews it sounds like ill get a great guitar.

Exactly. According to a quick Reverb search, the Simple 6 start just a few dollars lower than the 3 series. So what's going on? I'm confused by the pricing. I'd be very tempted by the OM sunburst for at or under $1k.

I have played that guitar locally, and it was really nice, if Larrivee has any kind of consistency, then you should be very pleased. The one I played was loud, resonant, sweet sounding, and the individual notes had a nice round tone.

Also, what's all this about 2k? That's for the burst, the plain top S6 start at 1500.

These guitars are really nice, pro quality. They are not 1k guitars. They are easily worth 1500.00
