Not that I particularly like the necks, but "Stratabond" did not originate with Martin. That is the trademarked name of a particular product made by Rutland Plywood. It's used in gunstocks, compound bows, and many other things...including guitar necks.

On a side note, the Rutland facility burned last August. I'm not sure of their current status.

True enough but Martin still uses it for necks. I was responding to the poster that stated that Martin does not use re-named plywood.
