Overall, I prefer Collings, although you might not. Try them both if you can. Owning guitars from both makers, I'd feel very comfortable buying a Collings without having had a chance to play it first -- somewhat less so with a Martin. But I'd much prefer having a chance to play and compare both.

It must be hard to ever compare or even play guitars if you are a lefty. Can't go far wrong with a Collings.

I am just wondering why you would need another guitar....I am sure with the 11 that you already have (which most of them are really nice) you could find the tone for any song that would come your way......I only have 4 guitars and find with just those I have everything I need......Your needs may vary....And your answer could be because I can.....Just Wondering in LA.....no disrespect intended.

Beautiful Collings you chose! Nice back on that one!

Only one problem: pick guard is on the wrong side! 😜

Congrats!

My feelings exactly. I have always loved guitars, but until five years ago, I only had one. I don't need any. I'm not a pro. But I'll turn sixty in 2016, and the instruments give me a lot to look forward to each day.

With respect to the choice, I've played Collings that had more neck on them than I could handle. But I have yet to play one that didn't sound somewhere between good and otherworldly.

I understand regarding the me years.....Had two wife's that took everything I ever made and paid support and insurance for all my kids for 25 years while I ate hot dogs and dry toast.........So the me years are important and congrats on the new guitar...
