If it is true that one person who thought the pallet guitar sounded good was named C.F Martin, I guess that would just demonstrate that some builders don't have high enough quality standards by some AGF member's reckoning. It must be nice for some to just have a little guitar business as a vanity thing, without quality or a good ear to encumber them.

True, but in the case of Tacoma it was specifically due to cracking at the cutaway bend. They eventually changed to solid sides as they got better at it.
