To continue on my flatpicking journey... be able to improvise a bit more in some of these bluegrass fiddle tunes, play faster and with more accuracy, while maintaining good technique.

And keep a good relationship with my teacher so he'll keep coming over...

I have got to start learning some new music. I also need to quit thinking that every guitar discussed here is far better than anything I already own. Been "chasing my tail" for far too long. And also narrow down my guitars a little bit. Sell maybe two or three....get to a more manageable number. Without the old standard "one in...one out" swap. Be more involved in playing out in whatever form that takes. And just getting together to play with others in an informal setting...that's really where I'll learn and share. Just feeling way too stagnant at the moment musically? Gotta change!

1. Spend less time looking at guitars on AGF and actually playing mine.
2. Absolutely no guitar purchases in the coming year.
3. Quit making stupid resolutions I can't keep.

~ Spend more time playing and learning
~ Take some lessons from some of the guys at the local shoppe - I'd like to be a better flat picker
~ No guitar purchases this year - I've got some nice stuff
~ Seriously look at selling one or two guitars that I own that would be better off in another persons hands

My New Year's Resolution is to actually play the guitar again!

When I first started Wolfram I thought it would be fantastic make something I really loved - playing the guitar - my work as well as my hobby. But as anyone who has started a business from scratch knows, it's incredibly hard work and just kind of takes over your life (until earlier this year I was working a day job too to make ends meet), and it is now well over a year since I really played a guitar properly.

This was a very rare few minutes snatched with my dusty Kronbauer SMB, testing out one of the very first of the new stainless steel Wolfram Martin Simpson Artist Series Signature Slides... and my lack of practice showed embarrassingly!!

I hope you all have a great New Year - and good luck keeping all those guitar-related New Year's Resoutions!!

Cheers,
David

1. memorize my first cover song;
2. I'm going to develop a fingerstyle arrangement of all my songs (300-ish)

Happy New Years to you all
