It 6 weeks since I got my Wingert F and I haven't bought a guitar since. However Ralph Bown will be starting work any day now on the 00-12 he is building for me.

Unfortunately I have developed associated diseases, CAS and BAS.

CAS = Capo Acquisition Syndrome.

I have already bought 3 of the new Shubb F1 capos for guitar and that has taken me over the 20 capo line, plus I'm waiting for an F1 banjo capo to arrive.

BAS = Banjo Acquisition Syndrome.

I had two (Cedar Mountain and Wildwood) and I acquired a (superb) Mike Ramsey Tubaphone banjo a couple of weeks ago. This week I made what I thought was a silly eBay offer for a Vega Old Tyme Wonder banjo and it was accepted! So I'll pick that one up in a couple of days. These are all open back 5 string banjos.

Fun ain't it?

Ive done well for the past six weeks, but I can feel the rumblings again. My GAS also goes hand in hand with GDS (guitar depletion syndrome).

It was a 13 year span of time for me. Then I played my first guitar. Had it ever since!

Ditto. I'm always GASing for one guitar or another. Martin OM 28, Gibson J 15, one of the new made-in-USA Guilds soon to be unveiled...these and others keep me in perpetual GAS.

Been about four months since I succumbed to it, though, and bought a new guitar.
