Hi Mike,

The TD-R is their traditional rosewood dread, in the vein of the Martin D-28. It has the most Martin-esque sound of the instruments that they offer, though like all H&D guitars, it has exceptional clarity in all registers.

The DR-H is a variation on the same idea, with an enlarged soundhole to temper the bass and boost the midrange slightly, and a more dramatic radius t the plates.

The DS is a slope-shouldered dreadnought (think Gibson J-45) so has a different sound and feel. I think slope D's, compared to the square-shouldered ones, can have a slightly more balanced and understated sound, making them great strummers and great for vocal accompaniment.

H&D has specs and descriptions of all of these guitars on their website: www.hussanddalton.com

I've owned all three. Yes the TD-R is most Martin like and I like it better as it is not quite as dark sounding as a D28. Of course this I'd just my opinion. The D RH is more bell like with a more pronounced midrange. The DS was a different animal, nice tone for strumming and I liked the individual sound of the notes too. Ultimately I kept the TD-R. I've had it for 6 years now and it's not going anywhere soon. Hope this helps but you really have to try each one and make your own decision.
