That having been said, i tried an Eastman the other day. Nice tonality, I want one.

So, all in all, the Eastman I would have to say delivers more harmonics and richness and has more personality.

So even though I love Larrivee, Eastman, to me, is a more intersting guitar to play.
You have such a great taste as you are the Larrivee and Eastman owner.

The sweetest guitars I've heard at open mics have been a Breedlove that sings like Pavaratti, and some old Laravee with Martin strings. I know this because I ask questions of owners when their guitar, to my ear, positively stands out. Nobody has shown up with an Eastman that stood out at the open mic that I frequent. At the same time, nobody has shown up with any other make and/or model that, to my ear, rivaled the above two guitars...except for one guy, maybe, who had a really sweet sounding Tacoma.

I had a Larrivee OM-05M, all solid mahogany. I own two Eastmans, and E10P and and E10D. I sold the OM-05 because it was heavy in my hands, and it never really had the sound I imagained from an all Mahog guitar... but was it ever a beauty! I am also going to sell my E10P... THE perfect fingerstyle guitar, and mine is perfectly setup.... but I just don't play enough fingerstyle to have a guitar dedicated for that purpose.

The E10D is now my Go-To guitar (after other dreads... 2 Guilds, 2 Martins, and a Gibson). I love the feathery lightness, and the sound is closer to a Collings than any other I have tried. Someday I'd like to have a Collings D1A.

I've owned Eastman P-20 and P-10 and Larivee P03 --- I like all three. I I could afford it, I would still have all three. Personally, I like Larry the best - the neck much more comfortable -- it projects better and lends itself to flat picking better than the two Eastmans. So, end of story - I sold the two Eastmans and kept Larry.

Because...sometimes a four year old thread just needs to be resurrected.

They are all just guitars built by people according to certain specs. But really, why anyone would want to compare a brand based on a real luthiers work and experience to an artificial brand that (at least for me) has no meaning or history or personality is not comprehensible.

Default Sound comparison

Here you go, folks:

OM Acoustic Battle - Sigma vs Eastman vs Larrivée vs Martin vs Santa Cruz @ Zjon's Guitarstore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwSRVRB0bd4

To my ears the Sigma sounds better than the Eastman, the Larrivee sounds better than the Martin, and the Santa Cruz sounds best!

1. Santa Cruz
2. Larrivee
3. Martin
4. Sigma
5. Eastman

Now, will this thread please go away so we can have more reasonable comparisons, if we must compare?

I've always wanted to see a Larrivee L-03 or L-05 compared with a Martin D-18 in the way Tony does comparisons at Acoustic Letter on YouTube. Would love to see it ... done by a pro.
