Wow, really unique looking J! Very nice!

Thanks, it was actually your NGD thread that gave me the idea for this 'J' thread.
The top on my JDP II has turned a little more golden coloured since I took that picture.

My 2010 J15 all Sapele version. Must have been a filter on the camera lens (looks a little darker than it actually is). So I have a little tan too.

I have a gorgeous J-65, but don't know how to post photos here. Sure is
easy on the UMGF.

My favorite guitar size!

How's the tone on that JDP2? I bet it sounds amazing, shame about the rosette though, she probably could have sold more if it was less in your face IMO...

I'm really lucky to own a Martin Grand J12-40E Special 12-string guitar and I was looking for a 6-string guitar to compliment it but not match it. I didn't want a 6-string that just sounded like my 12-string with all the octaves taken off. I wanted a different tone with plenty of volume. So I looked at different timber combinations and body styles. The JDP2 just had everything I wanted but what really convinced me was this clip; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6pLqcsB8ek
Bought mine from Elderly and they shipped it to me here in Australia.
I tried a set of Martin Retro Monel 12-54 strings in June and they are still on the guitar.
Emailed Diane Ponzio for her opinion on these strings, she got back to me and told me she was really enjoying them too.

The inspiration for the rosette came from the Martin Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) model pictured below.

I would love to try out a Martin J-65 with Maple back and sides, they look beautiful in the pictures I've seen and I'd love to hear one.
The other rather rare 'J' model is the HJ-28, think of the HD-28 with a 'J' body.

That's a beautiful guitar even with the pick guard on the wrong side.
I bet it sounds superb.
There's a HJ-38 Stefan Grossman listed here in the AGF classifieds; http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=410145
