Default Wow, Never Seen Anything Like it

Played a Webber Guitar recently and I was blown away.
So, in goes the search and out comes this guitar
It might play and sound great, and if it were local i might even go check it out. But for this (and any thing close to this) price, I pass

Really got a kick out of "Good condition items function properly but may exhibit some wear and tear"

What say you? Would you consider it?

Webber makes good guitars. It is a shame that this one has been abused and butchered and most of its value destroyed. Looks to me like the headstock has been snapped off and rather crudely glued back together. From the ad, "...Heavily modified to play as a Gypsy Jazz Guitar. Epoxy added to widen the neck. Pickups added...". Hard pass at half of that price.....

I probably wouldn’t, in that condition. Webbers generally fetch a low price on the used market. There was a nice cocobolo OM in the Classifieds recently for not much more than this.

Smile Good advice above

Too much ugly…. Too many poorly done mods.

Neck is a mess.

I too would pass at half the price.

A nice Webber will show up for you, with patience.

Play on

Paul

That’s a Northwood, not a Webber. Beautiful guitar though.

There’s a really nice Webber roundbody on the Canadian Guitar Forum for $2200 Cdn (about $1650 US). Don’t know if they’d be willing to ship to the US but it might be worth an ask. https://www.guitarscanada.com/thread...string.311289/

I'd keep looking. The key to online shopping is patience. The one MBee gave the link to in post 8 looks like a much better bet.

Also when shopping online, make sure you can return it if you don't like it. You'll pay the return shipping, but that's not a huge risk if you like the guitar's specs.

Makes sense that you'd post this. Webber and Northwood guitars are made in Canada and can be had for a great price. Both are excellent entry points into handmade guitars, IMO. Fit and finish are perfect on both, and there's definitely some overlap in the tone, though I would give the edge to Northwood (just my preference). Both brands are excellent for fingerstyle!

To Mbroady above: I would RUN away from that one. Too many modifications, which is such a shame. Also, be aware that there's a Webber Roundbody floating around on Reverb that needs a neck reset. I think they've pulled it at the time of writing this, but you never know. If you're still looking, get those extra pics (especially one of the heel!).

Thanks for the mention, MBee, that's my Webber. I've just taken the listing down due to Christmas and I'll be away for a while after but it is still for sale. Will relist in a few weeks.

But if anyone IS interested, get in touch with me soon. And, it is an excellent guitar in excellent condition. I've left the video/sound clip up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8RUP3j5K0o

Man, that thing sounds great. Reminds me so much of my own roundbody.

At this point it's a "project" guitar & should be priced accordingly.
