Frank Wakefield once baked a mandolin (Loar F5 no less) - just to dry the paint, though:

Jim: So where did you get this from… a car store?

Frank: Right!

Jim: Epoxy paint?

Frank: I am not sure if it was or not I don’t remember. So I figure I’d dry it
and bake and everything… I baked it for a while for about 300… well about
110 or 120 degrees something like that..

Jim: In the oven?

Frank: Yeah.

Jim: ah huh… that always helps! Ooooohhhhhh

Frank: Actually did make it dry and thought it sounded better.

Jim: uh huh..

Frank: Good thing I didn’t leave it in any longer cause that other glue
woulda come loose.

Jim: Right!

Frank: Good thing I took the strings off when I did it too.

Jim: Yeah, that’s for sure.

Frank: but anyhow that’s how I came about baking my mandolin.

Jim: ha ha

Frank: I baked it for about 20 minutes. It was just at the temperature
where it wouldn’t melt the paint, but it dried the paint I had on the top of it.
I figured that really did a number on it, but actually I thought it sounded better…
a lot of it is psychological…

Sounds just like Frank, except he's not balking tackwards.

I have used a substitute for the TT and am somewhat not skeptical but for your volume issue I am not sure it will help you. I asked a relative who I am building a guitar for, are you a strummer or a picker? He said strummer, singer songwriter stuff. So a lightly built guitar would be wrong for him. Not every guitar is for every person.

Well, Ray Bradbury's firemen definitely didn't put the books in an oxygen-free environment as is done during torrefaction. So, the guitar might be a pile of parts, but it wouldn't be a burnt pile of parts.

My Eastman E100SS-SB started out a bit tight, but after hammering on it for 3 hours at 4 or 5 gigs it's starting to loosen up nicely. Adi tops take a bit longer but the do sound a lot more rich after they're played in. My advice would be to play it as hard as you can for as long as you can as often as you can. With perseverance you will start to hear a difference.

I came on here to say that no question is silly, but you proved me wrong.
