Default K&K in a Journey Overhead?

I recently picked up a Journey Overhead folding travel guitar from an AGF member and I'm quite happy with it. For the price it's a great little guitar that sounds quite good unplugged. The folding mechanism is also really good and the case is perfect for travel.

The plugged-in sound is just okay. It's a little boxy. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the small size of the instrument and I should also say that I have not played much with settings on my SA220 trying to get the best sound for this guitar since I didn't want to stray too much from the settings I use for my 00-28VS.

The JO does come with built in electronics - a proprietary undersaddle bridge system. I typically prefer the K&K Pure Mini for a number of reasons - sound, quality, ease of installation, no battery, but mostly the sound I get. I'm wondering if I shouldn't install a K&K into my Overhead and if it will give me better sound 'out-of-the-box' than the proprietary UST system.

So I'm just wondering if anyone out there has tried this. A search of AGF had many threads about people installing the K&K into the Voyager travel guitars, but I saw none about the Overhead. Just curious if anyone has tried this or read about someone trying it.
