I have a ton of instruments - and way too many trumpets, but I'm trying to keep the guitars down to just my current favorite of each type. I tend to like the more expensive stuff, so it really helps to trade in the old one.

Between the grand piano, 88 key electric piano, flutes, saxophone, trombone, banjo, 6 trumpets, 2 cornets and a flugelhorn this place is starting to look like a music store. You need to find places to put all this stuff. And sometimes I feel guilty if one sits in the case for long periods of time.

The total currently rests at:

4 12 string accoustic guitars
2 8 string tenor ukulele
1 3 string ʻwalking bassʻ

hubby has:
2 hollow bodyʻs,
2 accoustic,
2 six string tenor ukulele,
and 1 eight string.

So we have 8 guitars and are not done. I want one more!

Down one since I gave my grandson my classical, other kids got the concert ukes. Have to fuel the fire.

I have had as many as 8 and am now at 6 and have been considering selling one more off. They all have functions so I am utilizing all of them but I like the idea of downsizing a bit.

I think that in the next couple of years I will be settled with 4 guitars and 2 banjos. We'll see...

Best,
Jayne

At 28 and counting the gas keeps on building. Sometimes I have too turn the computer off and go off grid, just to keep my wants and needs in check. All of these guitars are different. They play differently they sound differently and as a recording engineer, matching the right guitar with the right singer is essential.
Having the ability to go through my "spice cabinet" and get out the right one is essential. It's something they never tell you about when you buy your first guitar. "One is too many and a thousand is never enough." This applies here too.

I've been breathing, eating and sleeping guitars n ukes since I was a kid.
Have a guitar at every corner of my flat, work place and always bring one with me while travelling. I don't play guitars for a living but sometimes for the Church.
And yes,.......I have more than 5.

I am on the bubble with five.
My two newest are the guitars that I use in the band.
One of them is a resonator guitar and the other one is a baritone acoustic.

The other three are nice acoustic Dreds.

Yes, I am one who has more than 5 guitars. I sure love them all! Well, more importantly, I love the music they help me make.

Yes.

More than 10 less than 40.

Love 'em all for various reasons....I do have my favorites. IMO if you can add with out incurring hardship go for it. Everyone needs a hobby.

A few north of 5 but there is justification.

12 string - some songs just need a 12
nylon / classical some old hymns just need a nylon
Martin LX1 - guitar that goes on vacation / camping / rain
Sigma DM-4 - beater / couch guitar
Martin OMCPA1+ my go to guitar. Always when I am singing
Martin SWDGT when a bunch of us are together just messing around and acoustic gigs
Fender strat - already have a number playing acoustic in our worship team - gotta play the electric beside the bass player.

If you play them all you don't really have too many - do ya?

Tim
