Default How many of you own over 5 guitars?

I have to admit I'm one of them and I'm constantly wanting to get more! I don't know why but I just love the feel of a guitar in my hands and whenever I see one that is built well and has great tone my inclination has been to make an impulse decision and get it! So now I have half a dozen. Which I'm sure will increase over time.

I'm wondering if there are others out there like me....

My current count is at 10.....12 if I count basses. I'm not attached at all to about 6 of them. Those "unloved" guitars are ones that just happened to find a home with me. I don't have anything really valuable. My most expensive is around $900....I have two in that range. There are more I really want, but I think my next stringed instrument will be a banjo.

Smile And then there were six.

At one point on this forum I had accumulated approximately 15 or 20 , yes you do lose count especially if you are swapping a lot and have some out on loan.

That said , I realized it was too much to properly care for that many wood guitars and keep them properly humidified , strung , and played in so I began selling them off. It took a LONG time to sell them because I never gave them away and always showed a bit of a profit for my trouble.

I just sold one I thought I would never sell and it was called Bubba and was one very bold and beautiful Collings Slope shoulder dread ....

Well I'm down to six now and that is only acoustics I have one stratocaster which I have never even thought of selling because It took a long time to build and modify to finally get the sound and tone I wanted through my old Vibraluxe AMP so I guess seven is my lucky number and I'm sticking with the ones I now have .

ALTHOUGH/.................

I've been as high as 65 at any one time. I then realized how ridiculous it was to own that many of anything and I thinned the herd.

I now have three guitars and some very nice motorcycles.

I would hope so. It probably doesn't get much better than those builders!

At one point, between my husband and I we had about 7 of them. Then life happened, and they had to be sold. We are down to two currently, but are window shopping constantly. When things get smoother we plan to add a couple more since Hubby still doesn't have his dream guitar back (Martin 000-15M) and I really want a guitar with solid koa on it.

Welcome to the Forum...

At last count, I'm at 10. I think you're going to find a lot of folks around these parts taking the over...
