Cordoba Content....Guitar hunting..
As much as I love my Washburn Parlor WP11SNS I feel something is lacking in tone openess higher up the regisiter and barr chords...The sound just seems to tighten up(Compress) and it loses its tonal beauty ,,
So I'm out looking at Martin's, Taylors, Breedlove, Yamaha's but I want something smaller...like OM-0 but with a big open complex tone.... So mind you I only played smaller guitars... Taylor..... GS Mini very nice 2nd place Big nice tone Taylor Baby not bad for a mini Martin..... Sorry nothing talked to me I really wanted a Martin Yamaha... Nope, to bright...jangly Washburn.... EA15 very dry...plastic feel and sound...not woody Breedlove... 3rd place ,,nice Fender...F335 I think... look at Washburn Cordoba C-7 Not bad...but not as open as the C-5 C-5CE Fantastic and mind you I don't play classical... I played some Chris Issak ..other rock type stuff... Well balanced, big sound, excellent with open chords...barr...finger..appreciago picking..et.., just a natural great sounding acoustic... 1st place I wanted to play a Cordoba La PLaya but no one had one... or even the Mini's but no luck.. I can see the C-5CE in my future... Now to sell the Washburn... |

I recently had the privilege of playing a small parlor guitar that was possibly the most powerful and complex guitar I've ever played. It was a parlor guitar. It was at Dream Guitars. It was made by Jim Olson. It cost $25,000.
Oh, well ...

MFG sells a Martin Custom 00-28V that's nothing short of amazing. For a 00 size guitar, HUGE tone, lush, full, well balanced across all registers.

I wish I didn't have a budget..but I do..The GS Mini would be the top of the budget..
I had to resist playing at least one $4000 dollar guitar...walk away Chris...just walk away |
