I have 3 electrics, and 2 acoustics. I don't like to accumulate many guitars that are similar because if I have two expensive acoustics, I will tend to start pitting them against each other and will sell the one that doesn't sound as good. What really gets my goat is when a $700 guitar sounds better than a $2000 guitars....that's when I start selling.

How about a lot of incredible ones!!! Sorry, it is a disease I caught from this forum.

Lots of incredible ones is tempting, but for me it takes a toll on productivity and creativity. Making 1 guitar work for any situation is better for me than lots of options. Less is more and it makes you think differently in the studio.

I own a bunch of instruments (guitars, mandolins, ukes, etc) simply because I like instruments and I have the means to own many of them. I enjoy playing them and letting others play them, but I also enjoy collecting them. Feel free to label me however you see fit.

Default G.A.S.

Hello, my name is Brent and I have guitar acquisition syndrome.

I currently have 22 guitars accumulated since 1981, 10 acoustic and 12 electric, and the syndrome doesn't seem to be subsiding. Many are inexpensive. Inexpensive acoustics I let students use when I teach guitar classes and inexpensive electrics that I generally upgrade with SD and DiMarzio pups. They all bring their own unique vibe and sound. I have a couple months off during the summer and try to rotate guitars out to play.
I'm sure many of you have seen the Yamaha FS830. I don't have one, yet...

I am addicted...now back to 8, coming from 12. But another one is on it’s way, a McIlroy A25 coming from Dermond in Ireland. Don’t know what is is but after a while i get this weird feeling. Reading and listening of other brands and in the end there is GAS....

I've rotated through several, but overall, my collection grew over the last two years. Currently, there are nine acoustic guitars and four electric guitars in the house (plus some other instruments), but I may sell two acoustics and one electric later this year.

I feel like such an underachiever whenever one of these threads comes up (or back from the dead). I own the 3 guitars in my signature, with a Rainsong CH-OM on order (at which point I may, heavy emphasis on MAY, sell the Eastman OM).

5 electrics (including my first-a Danelectro Convertible) and 3 acoustics. Really haven't played the electrics much in the last 2 years, but I love em all and they'd be difficult/expensive for me to replace.

5 Acoustics (4 Dreads 1 GA) and 1 Electric which I have played less than an hour in the past 6 months. I'll probably sell the electric to fund an OM/Folk in the near future.
